Fleet vehicles are groups of motor vehicles owned or leased by
a business or government agency, rather than by an individual
or family. Typical examples are vehicles operated by car rental
companies, taxicab companies, public utilities, public bus companies,
and police departments. In addition, many businesses purchase
or lease fleet vehicles to deliver goods to customers, or for
sales representatives to travel to clients.
Automaker
fleet The term "fleet" may also be used to describe all vehicles
made by an automobile manufacturer in a particular model year.
Federal
Vehicle fleets refers to the Federal Government vehicles. The
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 included $300 million
to acquire electric vehicles for the federal vehicle fleet. On
October 5, 2009, President Barack Obama signed Executive Order
13514 on Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic
Performance to accelerate Federal agencies' efforts. For the government's
600,000 vehicle fleet, it requires a 30% reduction in petroleum
use by 2020, and for agencies with 20 or more vehicles to reduce
petroleum use by 2% annually through 2020. In coordination with
the General Services Administration, the United States Department
of Energy will develop within six months guidance for fleet managers
on alternative fuel vehicles and fuels.
A fleet card is used as a payment card most commonly for gasoline,
diesel and other fuels at gas stations. Fleet cards can also be
used to pay for vehicle maintenance and expenses at the discretion
of the fleet owner or manager. The use of a fleet card also eliminates
the need for cash carrying, thus increasing the level of security
felt by fleet drivers. The elimination of cash also makes it easier
to prevent fraudulent transactions from occurring at a fleet owner
or manager’s expense. Fleet cards are unique due to the convenient
and comprehensive reporting that accompanies their use. Fleet
cards enable fleet owners/ managers to receive real time reports
and set purchase controls with their cards helping them to stay
informed of all business related expenses.
A
Fleet Special is a term applied to an automobile that is produced
by a manufacturer with the express intent of it being sold in
large volumes to corporate interests for business purposes rather
than consumers for personal use. In the 1950s and 1960s, Fleet
Special models were usually stripped down full size cars such
as the Plymouth Savoy, Chevrolet Biscayne and Ford Custom 500.[citation
needed] Fleet Special vehicles can be customized in equipment
(all red cars with grey interiors, etc.) or for a specific purpose
(Ford Police Interceptor) model. An automobile can also be produced
for a specific industry if the demand is sufficient meet cost/volume
factors. In the case of the rental car industry in the United
States, General Motors produced the Chevrolet Classic (previously
built as the Chevrolet Malibu until 2003) which was only available
for fleet sales to Rental car companies.
Fleet
and truck Insurance is a type of commercial insurance. Primary
liability Insurance coverage protects the truck from damage or
injuries to other people as a result of a truck accident. This
truck insurance coverage is mandated by U.S. state and federal
agencies, and proof of coverage is required to be sent to them.
Insurance coverage limits range from $35,000 to $1,000,000. Pricing
is dependent on region, driving records, and history of the trucking
operation. Motor truck cargo insurance protects the transporter
for his responsibility in the event of damaged or lost freight.
The policy is purchased with a maximum load limit per vehicle.
Cargo insurance coverage limits can range from $10,000 to $100,000
or more. Pricing for this insurance is mainly dependent on the
type of cargo being hauled.

Fleet
Insurance is a type of insurance which covers a number of vehicles
under a single policy. It extends a number of advantages and also
saves you from facing issues you'll experience when you hold many
van insurance policies or other auto insurances. This insurance is
normally employed by those firms who use vehicles for business traveling;
however, this kind of insurance benefits individuals who possess a
number of vehicles as well.
The
major advantage of fleet insurance is that a number of vehicles are
covered under a single policy. This also helps you do away with the
stress and hassle of handling a number of separate policies for each
vehicle. For example, if you own two cars dedicated for business travel
and four vans for a delivery business, handling all these individually
would be an issue. This policy will cover all your vehicles and ensure
that each one falls in the policy.
Another
advantage of having fleet insurance is that the process of claiming
and response is much more efficient and effective, compared to other
options. A business can also purchase insurance bonds and get their
policies this way. Conversely, this kind of insurance is costly and
can be threatening to the business, particularly if the insurance
does not cover specific situations for example, company van insurance.
Opting for fleet insurance in place of insurance bonds is surely less
stressful for the company. Moreover, the administrative side of it
easier to manage.
The
need for fleet insurance is usually diverse for every company, but
there are certain fundamental factors that every company will take
into deliberation when deciding upon fleet insurance eligibility.
These foremost aspects are the number of vehicles there are to be
insured and the type of these vehicles. If the corporation is insuring
an amalgamation of diverse kinds of vehicles, the insurance and the
fee will be poles apart than a quotation for four or five of the same
nature of vehicles. The age of the vehicle and its condition will
also affect the value of fleet insurance immensely, since it is based
on the estimated mileage that the vehicles have.
Apart
from this, another major benefit of fleet insurance is that if an
insurer cannot get insured under an individual policy, he may have
coverage using a fleet insurance policy. This will not only offer
you a way to get hold of coverage, but will add to your history if
you wish to go for individual insurance some time later. The firms
that extend fleet insurance always take into consideration the driver's
history and experience and in light of these, they establish a final
quote. Nevertheless, a motor fleet insurance policy is still (to a
large extent) cheaper than opting for individual insurance.
Other than these advantages of cost saving, fleet insurance is indispensable
if your vehicles transport expensive goods. It will cover the costs
of the goods if they are lost, damaged, or stolen in case of an accident
or any mishap. Most of the fleet insurance policies do extend these
features.

Orange
County is a county in Southern California, United States. Its county
seat is Santa Ana. According to the 2000 Census, its population was
2,846,289, making it the second most populous county in the state
of California, and the fifth most populous in the United States. The
state of California estimates its population as of 2007 to be 3,098,121
people, dropping its rank to third, behind San Diego County. Thirty-four
incorporated cities are located in Orange County; the newest is Aliso
Viejo.
Unlike many other large centers of population in the United States,
Orange County uses its county name as its source of identification
whereas other places in the country are identified by the large city
that is closest to them. This is because there is no defined center
to Orange County like there is in other areas which have one distinct
large city. Five Orange County cities have populations exceeding 170,000
while no cities in the county have populations surpassing 360,000.
Seven of these cities are among the 200 largest cities in the United
States.
Orange County is also famous as a tourist destination, as the county
is home to such attractions as Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm,
as well as sandy beaches for swimming and surfing, yacht harbors for
sailing and pleasure boating, and extensive area devoted to parks
and open space for golf, tennis, hiking, kayaking, cycling, skateboarding,
and other outdoor recreation. It is at the center of Southern California's
Tech Coast, with Irvine being the primary business hub.
The average price of a home in Orange County is $541,000. Orange County
is the home of a vast number of major industries and service organizations.
As an integral part of the second largest market in America, this
highly diversified region has become a Mecca for talented individuals
in virtually every field imaginable. Indeed the colorful pageant of
human history continues to unfold here; for perhaps in no other place
on earth is there an environment more conducive to innovative thinking,
creativity and growth than this exciting, sun bathed valley stretching
between the mountains and the sea in Orange County.
Orange County was Created March 11 1889, from part of Los Angeles
County, and, according to tradition, so named because of the flourishing
orange culture. Orange, however, was and is a commonplace name in
the United States, used originally in honor of the Prince of Orange,
son-in-law of King George II of England.
